Arrival & Dismissal Procedures
Arrival
Arrival Procedures
The buses drop off at the front entrance of the building. Parents drop off in front of the primary hallway. The buses enter and exit onto Winghaven Centre Drive. Parents can enter from Winghaven Centre Drive or Timber Meadows Parkway. Parents snake through the parking lot until they get to the unloading zone. Parents will exit onto Timber Meadows Parkway once they unload. To assist with the flow of traffic, please make a right onto Timber Meadows Parkway. Parents should never unload their children in any area other than the designated drop off zone unless they are parking and walking their child into the building. If a parent chooses to park, they will walk their child to the front entrance of the building. Walkers may enter in the building using the doors along the primary hallway or through the front entrance.
• Parent drop off time is from 8:20 a.m. to 8:35 a.m. Cars will not be allowed to drop off until 8:20 a.m.
• Please have your children ready to exit your car and drop them off quickly. Remember cars are waiting behind you.
• Children must exit the car from the curbside only. It is too dangerous for your children to exit on the driver’s side.
• Please do not get out of your car or leave your car parked or unattended in the loading/unloading zone. This causes a backup and tempts other parents to drive around you, increasing the risk of a child getting injured by a car or an accident occurring between two cars.
• Any student dropped off after 8:35 a.m. is considered tardy and must have an adult bring them into school using the front entrances. A tardy will reflect on the student’s attendance.
• To ensure the safety of all students, we ask parents who are walking their student to class to use the front entrance of the building and sign in at the office. To both minimize disruptions during the morning procedures and protect instruction time, we are asking that parents exit the building prior to morning announcements. Please remember to sign out.
Dismissal
Dismissal Procedures
• Bus and car riders are dismissed at 3:35
• Walkers/bike riders are dismissed at 3:40. They will exit the 2nd grade doors at the bike rack with the crosswalk guards.
All of our car riders and daycare van riders will go to the gym at the end of the day. Once in the gym, a staff member will call students’ names over the radio for them to come out to meet their vehicle. A staff member will escort students to each car.
Please take the time to fill out two of the blue documents for you to use in your cars. If you drive through the car lanes, please have the blue document on your dashboard where we can see the names of your students. If you do not have the form, we will have to check your ID, radio the office, and wait for them to clear you before we can call your child out. As you can imagine, this will slow down the process for everyone.
A few other things to keep in mind: Please remember, we do not accept dismissal changes after 3:00 PM. Also, our primary focus is student safety and 3:20 is a critical time when children can potentially get lost in the shuffle; it is imperative that we streamline the secretaries’ time to focus only on emergencies that arise. With that in mind, please understand that we will not permit access to the office after 3:20 to check out a student. Please plan accordingly so we aren’t caught in the position of having to tell you no. Also, remember that you are responsible for calling in to change if your walker will become a car rider during the days with inclement weather. We will no longer be sending a text about rainy day dismissals.
Please remember that we are no longer allowing parents to walk up to get their children. You will need to drive through the pick-up line.
